BUTYL SEAM TAPES, FLASHING TAPES AND COVER TAPES
Approved and tested for EPDM, TPO and most PVC roofing membranes

SCOPE:  This specification covers butyl adhesives with and without an Elastomeric mechanical protective carrier.

DESCRIPTION:  A cross-linked, re-enforced, water & UV resistant butyl adhesive can take 40 degrees below 0 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit.

1.      Testing done with adhesive adhered on both sides to smooth EPDM membrane; cleaned with quick clean splice cleaner.  Samples aged for 24 hours @ 70 C prior to testing.  Instron speed 10”/min.

2.      Specimen cut with an ASTM die C or die D. Sample pulled a 10”/min and aged at 70 C for 72 hours.

3.      300 gram cone load used.

SPECS: Width & Lengths vary. Seam & Cover tapes 0.035” +- .005” butyl sealer thickness.

Flashing tapes 0.025” +- .005” butyl sealer thickness.
